Dior’s show in Seville
Last night, Dior showed its cruise collection 2023 in the well-known Plaza de España in Seville. An impressive decoration where a shawl made with half a million of roses and carnations stood out.
The almost 900 attendees enjoyed a show where tribute was paid to dance, cinema and, of course, Spanish fashion. In the collection, also inspired by Spain, predominate earth tones, baroque embroidery, tulles and evocations of our mantles. Dior proposes in the new cruise collection don skirts, pleated skirts, in black and red.
Maria Grazia Chiuri is the first woman in charge since Christian Dior founded the firm in 1947. Her intention with this show was clear from the begining. As she said: ‘it was time to also pay a tribute to an essential guild, the artisans, without which traditions would remain a dead letter.’
Artisanal work from different regions in Andalusia. Made in Ubrique craftsmanship was present at the show… sophisticated leather details were showcased during an awesome show which highlighted the love and respect for the lifestyle of Andalusia.
We can say that with this show, the aim is to promote love for crafts, traditions and all associated values. Sustainability and ethical principles. In conclusion, the promotion of the great strenghts of the Spanish artisanal industry and the French Maison.
