Last June, Betangible had the pleasure of attending the Italian menswear fair: Pitti Uomo. After two years of pandemic, Florence resurfaced with a fairly smaller edition.
Pitti Uomo is the international men’s fashion fair par excellence. The one that sets the trends and the way forward in male dress codes. This new edition had 662 exhibitors. The theme of this edition was Pitti island, seeking to turn the fair into a ‘imaginary island’ where there is contact and exchange of talent between firms, visitors and buyers.
We have been able to appreciate a trend for more informal outfits and a generalized obsession with colour. Also, the rise and consolidation of comfortable fashion turning basic garments into avant-garde ones.
Furthermore, Sustainability was a big topic in this edition. Most of the firms incorporated ecological fabrics, such as the Spanish brand Ecoalf, which occupied a prominent place at the fair.
