According to the latest official data (download it here in Spanish) , Spanish leather goods manufacturers have consolidated their international expansion in spite of the world’s generalised recession. The exports of manufacturing services have increased 17% in 2011 with a turnover of more than 511 millions Euros (Exports).
‘Made in Spain’ leather goods are very much appreciated not only by fashion brands and independent designers but also by the final customer, who is more and more informed and interested in what is behind the product they are buying.
Andalusia is the region that still holds the biggest cluster of companies dedicated to the manufacturing of leather accessories, most of which are based in the town of Ubrique and the surrounding towns such as Prado del Rey .
