The fact that Comme des Garçons is one of our favourite accessories brands is an open secret. The Japanese brand just released some more designs in their Very Black Line. In a previous post we told you about two of their most extreme lines. Once again, “Made in Spain” is kept as an asset for the brand.

Genuine exotic leathers, geometrical shapes, innovative construction and unconventional concept… These are the ideas that came to our minds when we found the designs below. We really enjoy the idea of not keeping the standard proportions for each type of design. Really smart… More info here

A very good friend of ours told us about this very first collection of two Italian artists who have joined their creative spirits under the name C.A.2 Creative . The collection features huge stoles, gloves, foulards and small accessories and is inspired by ancient Chinese paper-cut artworks. Automatic Cutting Systems (Blade, laser or water-jet cutting) may have been used for the engravings.

We have always been interested in designers who look for something different and want to experiment with materials. This time, we want to tell you about this “Duramen Series” since it is a new approach to the field of wood. We really enjoy projects like this because it brings together ideas and concepts such as creativity, craftsmanship and art. The wooden forms are carved, sanded and finished by hand by French design duo Rémy Clémente and Morgan Maccari of Bonsoir Paris

Creative people may feel frustrated about the time that they must wait until they see the first physical interpretation of what they have in mind. Getting a physical prototype with which you can easily work, write on and amend is highly appreciated by the creative team of a particular project. For some industries it might be difficult to find an inexpensive material with similar aspect and behaviour to the material that will be finally used for making the product. Prototype making saves time and money and favours the development of positive and productive experiences between designers and manufacturers.

Below, you can see some pictures of some prototypes made in our prototype and sample workshop.
